Executive Director

Tony began cycling at 13 years old and completed many centuries and his first double century at the age of 15. During these years Tony was able to stay clear of alcohol and drugs because of his dedication to cycling. This changed once he entered college and was introduced to a new life-style.

Attending the University of Colorado at Boulder Tony began drinking which led to drug use. After many years of this lifestyle Tony began hiking and backpacking and in 2000 he hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) from Mexico to Canada. This was the beginning to an active lifestyle that has kept him from the excessive alcohol and drug use from his college days.

Since hiking the PCT Tony has completed the Spokane Mountaineering Mountain School. Mountain School is an intensive 3-month course introducing students to the basic elements of mountain craft, rock climbing, navigation, and snow and glacier travel. Tony completed the Baldy Peaks 50k Ultra Marathon in 2003 and after sustaining an injury due to long-distance running he began cycling again.

Over the last 4 years Tony has again completed a number of cycling events. The past two years he as completed the California Triple Crown, riding 3 double centuries (200 miles in one day).

Tony has two small children and lives with his wife in Poway, California.
